As a junior competition in key regional surfing areas which cover Bali and Australia, Billabong Bloodlines has discovered and showcased many talented grommets. The second leg of the competition was held on August 27th 2017 at Padma Beach Bali where junior surfers from many regions bustled with the billowing waves and competed against each other in their roads to the final.

Judging and qualifications are based on four categories. These are the Push-In Division, 16 and Under Boys, 16 and Under Girls, and Under 14 Boys. Four grommets out of each category have been chosen as they will be competing in the upcoming final leg of Billabong Bloodlines on September 10th at Pererenan Beach, Canggu, Bali.

Even with fierce performances by several grommets such as Bonson Meidy and Ryuki Maida, there was a slight break during the event where the competitors and spectators participated on the potato sack races and military-style games. In the end of the competition, the winner will be awarded with several prizes from sponsors; Nixon, Surf Zapper, and FCS.
