From 10th to 26th of October 2014, Design It Yourself Surabaya or can be shortened as DIYSUB has brimmed the city of Surabaya with more than 25 creative events including seminars, talk shows, workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, a typography walking tour, product launches, and a weekend market. They had all their tickets sold out and more than 60 local, national, and international artists and speakers participating in the event. Not only from Surabaya, but they managed to gather people from outside of town such as Yogyakarta, Bandung, Jakarta, Makassar, Semarang, Malang, Magelang, Melbourne, Singapore, Tokyo, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.
For your short information, Design It Yourself is an annual design conference and festival held since 2011 to celebrate and promote the art of mixed creation and collaboration in design in Surabaya. For their fourth edition, which runs from Friday October 10th to Sunday October 26th 2014, they brim the city with a creative buzz of over 60 participants and 25 public talks, workshops, film screenings, collection launches, design maker faire, and more. Their theme this year is “Mix 2 Make”. It is about the passion to venture new territories, powered with guts to experiment that pushes beyond boundaries, a tenacious effort to combine multiple perspectives in a harmonious measure. Through this campaign, efforts can be found in material, method, science, knowledge, product, communication, or people.
