One of the biggest telecommunication provider in Indonesia, Indosat recently presented a video called “Batikology”. The five minutes video explores the story of Batik, especially from its knowledge, history, to a special fabric with a story telling known as Batik Dewi Ruci created by Mr. Sapuan from Pekalongan, a city in Central Java, Indonesia. Through the video, it was mentioned that the fabric is based on a story of Dewi Ruci or The Deity Ruci which features Bima, one of the character in Wayang. Mr. Sapuan mentioned that he believes that each person that see his artwork will recognize the similarity between their life and the artwork, that each person will goes through the process of identity search.
