The name TROÜ may sound unfamiliar to all of you but the people who are in it are not entirely new to the music scene in Indonesia, in particular to music scene in city of Bandung. They are previously known as the members of the band called A.F.F.E.N which appeared in 2012, namely Hariz Lasa who is in charge of vocals and guitar, Elmo Rinaldi who is their guitarist, M. Ifsan as bassist, and Hari Prakoso who is in charge of drums. Their newest single “Berhenti” is their first mark and comeback to the music industry in Indonesia. Although in some parts of the song, it sounds more like A.F.F.E.N however is just part of their creativity and expression. With only four band members, TROÜ is expected to be more universal in terms of music.
Regarding of the theme song for “Berhenti”, TROÜ explained that they raised the issue of difficulties as part of human life because it relates to everybody. Throughout the human life, they will discovered and experienced many things, of course, things that are difficult. There will find lots of problem and even things that will hurt them. These kind of problems will require all kind of human to solve it, so that they can learn and grow from it. The song “Berhenti” can be said as a song that was made from the hearts by their band member or things that they experienced. When you find difficulties, they certainly told us with this song to step aside for a moment and entertain yourself. The word “Berhenti” is also used not as a thing to surrender and hide from what you are encountered but the spirit to rise and return to what we have to do in order to fulfill our goals in life. Their newest single “Berhenti” were done by TROÜ within two months, with all of the process from recording, mixing, to mastering.
TROÜ is an experimental music project from Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. This project stems from a desire to exploit the musical potentiality of each TROÜ’s personnel. It started from a band named A.F.F.E.N and after the time goes by, they decided to transform their name into TROÜ. The point of the transformation is that they agreed to form a band as a way to express their musicality, their feelings and their point of view of life and most importantly to experiment with the music and have fun with it.
