Indonesian Marvel Community

Indonesian Marvel Community or Komunitas Marvel Indonesia is a group of Marvel fans in Indonesia, which includes the fan of action figures, movies, comics, and so on. The community was established on August 1st 2009 by founders who previously gathered its members through the Group feature in Facebook. Just few days from today, they will present a special workshop called “Talking Marvelites” for all the people who are willing to see a different perspectives of their hobby, such as comics, action figures, cinematic universe, cosplay, and many more. This special event will take place on Saturday, May 23th 2015 from 4 in the afternoon to 8.30 at night inside the @AMERICA Pacific Place Mall, Central Jakarta. It is a free entrance event, so everyone can join the festivities. Wear your favorite t-shirts, costumes or attributes to your favorite character of Marvel. Marvel Worldwide Inc or commonly referred to as Marvel Comics and formerly Marvel Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Comics Group, is an American publisher of comic books and related media. In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Worldwide’s parent company. Marvel started in 1939 as Timely Publications, and by the early 1950s had generally become known as Atlas Comics. Marvel’s modern incarnation dates from 1961, the year that the company launched The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and many others. Marvel counts among its characters such well-known properties as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, the Silver Surfer, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider, such teams as the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men, and antagonists such as Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Kingpin, Magneto, Doctor Doom, Loki, Thanos, and the Red Skull. In 2013, Marvel held a 33.50% share of the comics market, compared to its competitor DC Comics for about 30.33% share. By comparison, the companies held 40.81% and 29.94% shares in 2008.
