The International event of Jakarta Food and Fashion Festival 2015 certainly carried “Trendology” as main theme for the fashion show. In collaboration with Studio One, this series of fashion show would love to showcase global trends that are currently in demand by local fashionistas. To show the characteristic of the theme, the committee has chosen five local brands or designers with eccentric style that could represent it. They were Danjyo Hiyoji, Rama Dauhan, Sean and Sheila, TODJO, and ALGARRY by Albert Yanuar. Located at Harris Hotel Kelapa Gading in Central Jakarta, several brands and designers were presented their latest collection, including capsule collection “Naluri” for fall and winter 2015 by Rama Dauhan. According to Rama, the designer, he admitted that he presented a collection that is more mature than his previous work. Most of the clothing were nuanced in monochrome with cotton material, linen from India, and few laces. Despite presenting a more complicated combination of materials, Rama still showed his characteristic of technique, the drapes. Since pursuing a career with the local ready to wear label (X) S.M.L and Danjyo-Hiyoji, Rama Dauhan now comes with his own label. He uses a variety of creative ideas including creating a piece of modern cloth using traditional material. Rama also has talent as a muralist who previously used eggs in creating an art. He displayed his creation at Kuningan City Mall to celebrate the Easter Day. Aside from those, he is also the owner of Mangia restaurant. Although he originally began his career as a designer since about thirteen years ago. Furthermore he also admitted to be in love with the fashion world since he was in school and work in the backstage, as an intern for several local factories. Rama plunge into the world of fashion because he was interested in the dynamic and fast pace of how it works. He stated, “Therefore, we should be creative in order to exist. We always challenged ourself to create something new.” Not only he pursue fashion, but he also falls in the culinary field and already owned two restaurants, in addition to taking care of his hobbies such as mural art and being fashion stylist.
