From Friday July 31st to Sunday August 2nd 2015, a beautiful stretch of black-sand beach in Karangasem, East Bali will transform into an international music celebration called Bali Unite. It is a three-day music experience that welcomes festival goers to enjoy a mix of world-renowned and favorite local artists, participate in inspiring yoga and wellness classes, workshops focusing on eco-consciousness and sustainable lifestyle, and relax on one of unspoiled beaches in Bali while sampling delicious organic foods and drinks. The first lineup announcement includes Brooklyn hip-hop recording artist, actor, and activist known as Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def, Californian surfer and singer-songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter, German electronic dance music duo Super Flu and champion turn tablist DJ Ride. On top of that they have Waka Flocka, Superman Is Dead, Ras Muhammad, The Alastair, Borgeous, Ky Mani Marley, and many more.

Bali Unite will take place at the brand new 7Temples eco beach complex, a one-hour drive from the airport and just a few kilometers of the harbor village of Padang Bai, in the beautiful regency of Karangasem, East Bali. The festival is slated to attract up to 20.000 music, art, and beach fans. The festival kicks off on Friday July 31st 2015 at 4PM. On Saturday, August 1st 2015 a full moon dance party will last into the wee morning hours, intertwined with family-friendly activities and the Kids Unite children village on Saturday and Sunday. For those keen for a full-emersion experience, 7Temples features fantastic camping grounds with tents and sleeping bags available for rent, definitely a first for Indonesia. They also thrilled to announce confirmed headliners and homegrown legends to be part of the activity.

Rebecca Reitman who is the Music Curator for Bali Unite further stated, “We often say that music is a universal language because it unites people together. That is why Bali Unite welcomes a variety of styles of music on three separate stages, from up-tempo electronic music to alternative rock, pop, down-tempo lounge, and reggae. We have it all.” Bali Unite will continue to add new domestic and international acts to the lineup in the coming weeks, including some major surprises. In addition to great music and overnight camping, the festival will serve up delicious and healthy foods and drinks and feature a wellness sanctuary with daily yoga, dance workshops, and more. While the new 7Temples complex and home will be the first ever to be Asia’s large-scale eco-festival venue. 7Temples derives its name from the seven significant Hindu temples that surround the property.

Festival facilities construction is already well underway, under the expert leadership of famed architect Amir Rabik. “The beautiful and spacious bamboo structures we are constructing are not only designed to keep our thousands of guests comfortable, but they are also fully recyclable and blend in with the surrounding jungles and beaches of 7Temples,” he said. Bali-based band Navicula understands the important contribution of music festivals like Bali Unite. Robi who is the frontman for the band further explained, “We are excited to perform at Bali Unite, not only because of the beauty of the venue and stages, but also because of the concern of festival for the community and environment of Karangasem.
