A contemporary fashion brand preserving the art of Indonesian Batik craftsmanship known as POPULO Batik recently released a capsule collection of Yogyakarta historic preservation and traditional values for Central Department Store in Grand Indonesia Jakarta East Mall. Previously on November 2014, the brand was there as a stand alone concept store and offered several ready-to-wear batik clothes. As for the capsule collection, POPULO Batik is now offering goods with the idea of contrasting clothes based on the traditional batik patterns such as Grinsing or checked pattern. Furthermore, the main inspiration for this collection is the traditional colors that exist in the grand history of Yogyakarta, from Mataram Kingdom, Majapahit Empire, to Mataram Sultanate. These colors are applied to the fabric with monochromatic colors such as black-and-white to brown and salmon atmosphere. For those of you who would like to spend your money on this latest capsule collection from POPULO Batik, the entire collection is now available in limited numbers and only available in-store at Central Department Store in Grand Indonesia Jakarta East Mall. Each products available in two styles, such as t-shirt and collar tee.

POPULO was established in Jakarta, Indonesia on March 1994 and opened its first little store in September 1994 while at the same time introduced its own men and womens collection under the label of POPULO. The POPULO collection was sold at the POPULO concept store together with other international high end designers like D Squared, Y3, Neil Barrett, Kris van Asschee, Kiminori Morishita, Fred Perry and other fashion brands next to accessories, magazines and books as well as music, collectible toys, interior design and furnitures. In 2013, they launched their first Batik Collection mainly to preserve the art of Indonesian Batik craftsmanship. They wanted to design a Batik line which on one side has its strong base in traditional Indonesian Batik heritage and on the other side has an international design approach refering pattern, colour use and silhouettes. The result is a new approach to design Batik. Due to the handcrafted manufacturing process, Batik itself will always be limited in production quantities and each piece is different. POPULO operates today a workshop and store where customers can experience a completely different, very personal shopping mood, where creative inspiration, new ideas and a new approach let them become part of the creative process to design their clothes.
