With three main destinations of three different islands and more than fifteen days on the road, the entire Volcom Indonesia skate team will return its craziness and skills to the concrete and asphalt jungles of Skate Tour Indonesia 2015. According to its official blog, they will be headed to Bangkinang City in Riau, Manado in North Sulawesi, and last but not least the city of Surabaya in East Java. Those cities will be the main destination for the Volcom Indonesia skate team including Indra Leonardo, Mario Palandeng, Keanu Campora, Sanggoe Dharma, Tenma Takahashi, and Rubianda Rachman. For your information the Bangkinang City in Riau is about two hours drive from the city of Pekanbaru and was the first city that they went to. A large skatepark located in the location that could be considered as middle of nowhere becomes their main objective. Even so, the team always used their free time to drive around the city and look for a new spot to conquer. Strange incident occurred in their first trip as the entire luggage of Bali skate team were left behind in Jakarta. However, this does not diminish the spirit of the team to play skateboard and do few tricks during the skate trip. Aside from it, they were also welcomed by the BSBrother skatepark whose originally from Bangkinang. They were having lots of fun and help to implement the Volcom Indonesia Skate Tour 2015 event. Volcom was founded in 1991 by Richard “Wooly” Woolcott and Tucker “T-Dawg” Hall, who based the ethos of the company on their own experiences with boardsports. In March 1991, the two friends went on a snowboarding trip to Tahoe, United States and afterward, they decided to start a clothing company. Chet Thomas was the first professional skateboarder to be sponsored by the brand. In 1995, Volcom was the first action sports company to create a record label, Volcom Entertainment. In April 2005, the company adopted its current name Volcom, Inc. Volcom became a publicly traded entity on June 29th 2005, when Wachovia Securities, D.A. Davidson and Piper Jaffray underwrote an initial public offering on NASDAQ. They priced 4.69 million shares at US$19 a share, raising a total of US$89 million. In early 2008, Volcom made its first acquisition, taking ownership of Electric Visual Evolution LLC for US$25.3 million. On May 2nd 2011, a French luxury, sport, and lifestyle group Kering launched a friendly takeover offer to buy Volcom Inc for US$24.50 a share valuing the company at US$608 million. The head board of Volcom unanimously backed the Kering offer and shareholders were advised to tender their shares to the French company. Since the takeover, Kering has sought to expand and diversify the Volcom brand. The support from Kering allowed Volcom to launch its first ever closed-toe footwear line in July 2013. Outside America, Volcom has numerous international retail stores including locations in Hossegor, Bordeaux, two locations in Bali, Tokyo, South Africa, London, and many more.
