One of the brightest store in Kemang, South Jakarta yet still independently owned by the creative outlet known as Penny Store Jakarta recently released a special collection of Penny Apparel. Dubbed as “Penny Artist Series”, this second edition of capsule product is part of their collaboration project with various exiting Indonesian artists to make apparel with unique, provocative designs that usually seen on the street walls or inside a gallery. For this second release, the store enlisted the services of a highly talented Indonesian graffiti artists based in Surabaya, East Java by the alias name of Junkfood aka Pino to make the Penny Artist Series apparel collection. Over the months, this local artists has developed a strongly identifiable body of works. Most of his work are usually doodling or comic related with a street detailed graphic, unique character, and a pinch of dark humor just like a five year old boy. His artwork has exhibited throughout the city of Surabaya from billboard to a huge wall in the old town. While his graphics for the “Penny Artist Series” offer a skateboarding and graffiti related graphics, such as Strike Font, Skate bart, Pink Panther, and many more. Over the years both artists has developed a strongly identifiable body of works. Most of their work are usually skateboarding related with a highly detailed graphic, unique coloring, and a pinch of dark humour. Both are also has exhibited work in few big cities around the globe, from Los Angeles, Portland, Jakarta to Melbourne in Australia. While Ryan’s work has already led to a prolific client list including Nike, Converse, and Stance Socks. The entire lookbook were also shot by an amazing photographer known as Harris Syn, who is well known for his distinctive angle and tone.
