Padma Legian Resort Bali, acclaimed as 5-star art sanctuary hotel with remarkable services and comfortable rooms, recently invited us to visit and check the hotel out. Thanks to Agoda Indonesia who made this #NEIGHBOURSTAY happened, we thought this would be an awesome experience to share to our readers who are making holiday plans. Upon our arrival, we didn’t have much expectation for Padma. With the hype surrounding Seminyak, Bukit (Pecatu/Uluwatu) and Jimbaran as new chic areas to be, the idea of Legian is somewhat less appealing for urbans whom holidaying in the island.
It took us about 15 minutes from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International airport ride, a wide grinned host adorned in Balinese outfit greeted and ushered us to reception desk for a check in. Our assigned room was not ready for another 30 minutes which, surprisingly, was not enough of a deal breaker for us. We were treated for a delightful refreshment at the lovely Garden Club Lounge while awaiting.
Previously known as Sekar Alliance Hotel Management, Padma Resort Bali at Legian is a serene paradise under the dancing shadows of the renowned Legian sunset. And it just steps away from the traditional art and fashion market of the famous Legian street, where international tourists flock the area to get souvenirs. The resort itself is a sanctuary at one with nature. It is set a gigantic 6.5-hectare garden landscape, provides comfortable accommodation, world-class facilities, and a wonderful experience for discerning travelers.
Ms. Tuti, a longtime serving associate at the hotel, came to us and shared her vast knowledge on the resort. Clearly, after years spending most of her day at what she refers to as “my second home”, she no longer separates what is personal and professional in her daily life. Padma is personal to her as her eyes sparked upon highlighting the new Olympic sized public pool and how wonderful Lagoon Access Room for us to enjoy for the next 2 nights there.
One will forget on hitting Legian beach when staying at Padma. The resort houses mini splash pools, water jets, gentle waterfalls and two large raindrop umbrellas showering water streams set in a pleasant garden environment among other recreational facilities. There are sun lounges, a towel service area and pool service food and drinks menus for both children and adults and an ice cream parlour situated at the entrance to the pool area. The list goes on. We unwisely spent our 48 hours there just around the pool areas, particularly the famous Barong Pool Bar and Cafe that offers great comfort foods pairing: Chilli Dog, French Fries, Burgers, Sausage Sizzle.
S.K.A.I is another pride and joy of the resort. No Bali experience will ever be complete without a stylish lazing around during sunset hours with an ice cold Bintang and a fancy luscious cocktail or two. Above all, good looking crowds at S.K.A.I demands attention from all onlookers, so go on, put your best sundress and quirky pair of shades on, this particular spot in Legian here is ready to compete with those hip venues in neighbouring Seminyak.
NEIGHBOURLIST is all smitten about Padma Legian Resort Bali. Choosing an accommodation in the island could be either fun or daunting given the number of hotels/resorts/villas there (Agoda lists more than 5,000 accommodation on its site). Padma Legian Resort Bali, however, has been making a name within an industry of stiff competition. The resort keeps on adding new products within its large premises accompanied with superb quality of service and food at reasonable price point for a 5-star establishment. A true Legian icon after all these years.
