Manakala Living is a start-up home-making company that always aim to make home the extension of one’s character. Through the mediums they are using which include ceramics, woodwork, paintings and fabrics, Manakala is always trying to convey an infinite scope of artistry they come across in life. Thus, Manakala Living proudly presents ‘Papirus’, a collaboration project with Jakarta-based famous graphic designer/illustrator, Gema Semesta.
Papyrus itself is a hand woven parchment documenting the mesmerizing paintings of a lost civilization. The collaborative effort by Manakala and Gema Semesta is named ‘Papirus’ because every ware are handcrafted individually, and behind every illustration by Gema, each one of them holds its own story. This collection will be available starting from May 20th 2016 at Seek-A-Seek Graphic Design Festival by dia.lo.gue artspace.
