Taking place at the cozy and warm Paviliun 28, music studio MABES Music held their initial collective showcase. Three talented indie musicians were performing which are Branade, Classmate Journal, and Karina Christy as first timer. Karina is MABES’s newest member of the team and the gig was her first ever public performance and also set to be the introductory show of Karina.
The packed audiences first welcome the Jakarta-based duo, Branade who performed their Bulat Atau Datar and several other original songs. Meanwhile, Karina came second and sang her main single titled Stuck In Silence. The #NEIGHBOURTEAM even got the chance to chat with the delightful Karina after the show – talking about her impressions of performing at POTLUCK and her upcoming first album which is planned to be released at the end of 2018.
Afterward, the cushy night was concluded by the performance of Classmate Journal who sang most of the songs from two of their albums, Journey (2014) and an mini album titled 2.0. Every artist delivered groovy performances, nevertheless the night wasn’t only about music but the intimacy along with the super chill vibe were great compliments to the music.
The musicians weren’t just simply performing, the amiable interactions between them and the audiences elevated the entire vibe of the venue. Sharing their personal and musical experiences, the creative processes behind the lyrics, and one or two jokes here and there. It was lively.

Not only that it is a proper way to introduce and support local indie musicians, this kind of event is a refreshing entertainment experience, which must be even more frequent in Jakarta.
