Brightspot Market 2017 was the 14th run of their series of creative market. Held in PIK Avenue on November 2nd until 5th with the theme of Modern Culture Festival. The event occupied a more than 3000m² space and successfully massed over 170 tenants which were divided into five main sections: Fashion area, F&B area, Music and Collaboration area, Art Installation area and Kids area.
We have witnessed the maturation of Brightspot Market from their very first pop-up market in 2009 and we could not be more pleased to see how Brightspot Market has come this far. They proved that they were capable of holding the event in a level where no similar event has touched before. Gaining new patrons to appreciate the local creative industry as well as rejuvenating the market which most of us aware was declining lately.
Looking at the total visitors of more than 60.000 achieved in only four days, we are pretty sure that the overall visitors were appeased with the event. However, mixed reviews were heard coming from the tenant side. Concerning the number of sales from the last year’s Brightspot, which was higher than this year’s. Some of them feel that the kind of culture Brightspot tried to bring on this event was still unfamiliar for most of the visitors. Not to mention about all the belittling complains about how far this year’s venue was.
On the other hand, the rest of them said that this year’s event exceeded their expectations. Despite all of that, most of the tenants still expressed their gratitude for being able to join Brightspot’s euphoria of fun and new experiences, such as the Revolution Music Festival and workshop classes by Indoestri. We certainly hope for the next event being held here again with some twists only Brightspot Market could add.
