PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) as the official management of 13 major airports in the Western region of Indonesia explained that they held the ceremonial groundbreaking development of Husein Sastranegara Airport earlier today. Within the press release signed by corporate secretary Daryanto, it was mentioned that Husein Sastranegara Airport development will leads into the concept of “Modern yet Traditional” where a new terminal building design architecture inspired by traditional West Javanese rooftop known as Leuit and Julang Ngapak, as well as traditional weapon from called Kujang.
Taken from the color of the resulting plants named Tarum, shades of indigo blue color will also adorn Husein Sastranegara Airport. This plant is a producer of natural indigo blue color and is often used by the ancient Sundanese people to dye their clothes. The development projects will be over around the period of 12 months from groundbreaking. That will includes the renovation and expansion of the passenger terminal area from 5.000 m2 to 17.000 m2 with the value of the work closed to 139 billion rupiah. Along with the expansion, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) will also increased the terminal capacities to 3.4 million passengers per year.
