The Goods Dept is collaborating with Lotte Shopping Avenue, Jakarta, to open a new pop-up concept store last night on Thursday, October 16th 2014. Located on the ground floor, the pop-up section will be known as Project K. A section of the space is dedicated to Cafe K, handled by the team of The Goods Cafe. In Project K, they handpicked a collection of Korean women’s wear brands.
Their products offering will range from apparels, shoes, to leather goods and other accessories. To name a few, KYE, Dim. E Cres., Rocket x Lunch, Yurt, Between A and B, and Pennant are among many independent Korean brands that they choose for Project K. The pop-up shop itself will exist for 6 months. And even though it is currently limited to women’s wear, they will expand for more unisex products will soon follow.
Along with the retail concept, The Goods Cafe will also create Cafe K, serving Korean inspired sweets. There will be ice cream sandwich, waffles, mochi, cupcakes, milkshake, cold brew coffee, and other thirst quenchers. For the opening day, shoppers could win prizes in a lucky dip and other activities. There will also be a treasure hunt where the mechanism of the competition will be announced later on the opening day.
KYE is a high-end streetwear brand owned by Kathleen Kye, one of the hottest fashion designers in the K-Pop scene. It offers assortments of clothing, including top, bottom, dress, shoes, bags, and accessories, with bold and witty designs. The brand KYE have been worn by many K-Pop icons, including G-Dragon, 2NE1, and 4 Minute among others. Pennant was established on January 2012 by Vent, a young label that has become a favorite in its country. Their original offerings consist of two main lines, Bumble Bee, a range of transformable outerwear, and the one that we have in Project K, Jimi (named for music legend Jimi Hendrix), a fully customizable footwear.

Dim.E Cres. is Cres. E Dim. written backwards, being the second line brand of Hong Bum King. In the musical term ‘crescendo e diminuendo’, ‘cres’ means ‘getting gradually louder, and ‘dim’ reflectively means ‘getting gradually softer’. Hong Bum King applied this theory into his fashion identity and philosophy. Rocket x Lunch is a contemporary casual brand with a range of simple designs, but always with a touch of fun. It is a label that is absolutely trendy and on point with K-Fashion and K-Culture.
