After they released “Le Voyage”, “Boredom and Freedom”, “Hypnagogic”, and “Freehugs” music videos from their latest album, Hypnagogic, the Bandung based independent musician known as Bottlesmoker finally released a new video for their latest hits called “Vagabond”. For this song, they invited talented director Fazrie Permana who have this crazy maniac idea for the video. For your information, this video was done and finalized in his bedroom, similar to what the duo usually done with their artwork and creativity. As for the song “Vagabond”, it is inspired by them who frequently travel to several places, for instance, when they re on tour or even as artist residency. Therefore, Fazrie caught this idea from song to be implemented into a great digital artwork.
Fazrie Permana further explained, “I try to develop this concept from the term of Vagabond’s word. From that term, I have this idea to create something that I would like to called digital traveling. This digital traveling is defined as there will be no human nor a physical material, but there will be only the pixel colonies. Therefore, I interpreted if the pixel colonies traveling, they might transformed into different shapes and sizes, as they are not living in space or time”. This unique idea will be appeared on your head once you listen to the Bottlesmoker’s music. As usual, the music used a lot of electronic stuff and has that kind of futuristic sounds that could be indicated as a digital revolution.
