After the success of their runway show back in Jakarta Fashion Week 2015, Jakarta based unisex label Monstore is now revealing their new collection for spring and summer 2015 dubbed as “Plastic”. According to them, this collection is inspired by something imaginative and trend that occurs in public space. “People are people. Humans. All try to strive along the everyday life. Try their hardest to be something, to be significant. And along the way, we become something who we are not. We do our best just to pretend. Do our best just to matter. Sometimes, just to be liked. We put masks and wrapped ourselves with some ideas or something imaginative. Cover ourselves with fake smiles, fake words, fake personality. We become plastic by an instinct. Though we know, deep down inside those plastics are nothing but masks. Meant to cover our inner monsters. Our deepest and darkest secrets, our true self.”

The collection itself used layers and transparent materials. They take their illustrations and prints, to another level. The Illustrations were inspired by monsters. Teeth, mouth, eyes, horns, are just a few samples of many illustrations they created for this particular collection. They also used bright colors, to represents how people cover their evil monstrous side with fake smile, sarcasm, and sometimes, pleasure. While the products offer several basic garments for men and women that are popular amongst youth nowadays, from t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, over long shirts, sweatshirts, sports-bra, bikini pieces, jacket hoodies, pants, jogger pants, and other supporting items such as pillow and backpack. For those of you who are willing to support and purchase their latest collection for spring and summer 2015 “Pillow”, it is now available online and in-store at Monstore flagship store in Kota Kasablanka Mall South Jakarta.
