These two innovations are created as their fully efforts to strengthen themselves and its brand in the Indonesian market. Today, all the Vespa lovers can find and buy their own Vespa S 125 cc Matt Series in The Goods Dept as they casually buy at any other Vespa official dealers. According to Marco Noto La Diega who is the Managing Director of PT Piaggio Indonesia, he explained that, “We have the same target consumers with The Goods Dept. In addition, we also have the same image, both as fashion brand and lifestyle product for the young generation. Currently, we are cooperating with their team to form a Vespa corner and window display in front of their Pacific Place flagship store. You will be able to see the latest Vespa S 125 Matt Series along with various official merchandise of Vespa.”
According to Marco Noto La Diega, the Vespa S 125 is presented to the Indonesian market so that consumers have more choices when they visit their store. Aside from it, the 125 cc with four-stroke engine and three-valve makes the Vespa S more fuel efficient by 30% and environmentally friendly. In terms of technology, this unit remains the same with the other engine variants of Vespa with 150 cc. He further mentioned that Indonesia is an important market for Piaggio. Although the Indonesian economy is currently weakening, Piaggio believes that the business will be great in future, plus a lot of opportunity. Currently, the Italian based company has three focus development in Indonesia, namely the development of the product line, dealer network and sales, as well as the quality of after-sales service for the Vespa lovers. Other efforts by them is to make a great training center at the beginning of this year. This training center aims to improve the quality of the technicians in repairing the scooter of Vespa and Piaggio.
In addition to provide a greater choice to consumers, Piaggio Indonesia is also building a competitive value in the market strategy, in particular the price, with this new product line. Their target market remains the young generation who are dynamic, stylish, and colorful. As for the price, Piaggio Vespa S 125 will be priced at IDR 28.5 million Rupiah and would be available within two colors, Matt Blue and Matt Yellow, with another choice of color would be available later, such as Matt Red and Matt Black.
