The latest architectural icon to be added to the Batu Jimbar estate is Svarga Residence, an award winning residence that combines the tradition of Balinese style with modern features and facilities. This spacious retreat is created by RT+Q Architects and exemplifies excellence in every way and provides luxury and comfort just meters from the beachfront. While the challenge for this residence was to un-balinese the typical Balinese villa form—both in terms if image and function—while retaining the intangible essence of the place. The idea was to question notions of the typical home and to un-do conventions in search of a new domestic idiom. The notion of the home, the house, and the dwelling was dismantled, re-examined (the common thatch-roof elements substituted) and re-constructed as in rather than using traditional timber, steel was used extensively into a new image and living environment.
The living areas located on the ground floor level of Svarga Residence include a spacious lounge room with full entertainment systems, a formal dining room with seating for ten people, a fully equipped kitchen and casual dining bar, pantry and preparation kitchen, wine cellar, two private seating retreats, two indoor outdoor toilet areas, one bedroom with indoor outdoor ensuite, and a wooden deck surrounding the pool with full bar-b-que facilities. While of the second level of the villa continues to surprise and delight the senses. There are three bedrooms upstairs, connected to the ground level by spiral staircases, and each contained in an individual barn that sits atop the inverted S. Two are connected by a grassed rooftop quadrangle, creating another space that engages with the sky and lush tropical landscape.
With each bedroom is beautifully appointed with luxurious beds and linen, walk in wardrobes and quality furnishings. Large glass panels surround the rooms and bath the interior in light. The indoor outdoor en suites continue to reflect the serene spaces and invite you to take a moment to admire the wonderful views across the estate. All en suites have baths and each have outdoor pools surrounded by coconut palm fronds. Locally made organic soaps and bath products complete the 5 star nature of these islands in the sky. The entire indoor area including all bedrooms and bathrooms has ducted air conditioning that can be selectively localised to individual sections as required. The Bose stereo system is wired throughout the living and kitchen entertainment area to provide on demand music which can also be individually selected via the wireless system.
