Going strong since February 2016, Classyland Co. has been steadily proving themselves as one of the most promising brands in the over-saturated market of local denim brands with their matured and refined concept. As a denim enthusiast, we are very excited when we finally get our hands on one of their recent articles to write this review.
Classyland Co.’s flagship jeans dubbed as Elsig III is constructed with a 15 oz unsanforized deep indigo plain selvedge denim. The denim itself is made with Zimbabwean cotton which is globally known for its quality and comfortability as well as producing a soft hairy surface that stiffens after soaked. We love this particular fabric for its feel and deep indigo color.
The design of the back pocket presented in this jeans is quite exceptional with a classic one-way sewing method. They implement a brand new arcuate for this release as they decided to use a white yarn to make it more distinctive. The back pocket also features hidden rivets to produce a unique fade after months of wear.
If most of the leather patch designs that are associated with workwear tend to draw inspiration from the vintage American, Classyland Co. delivers something local. The leather patch is made with two millimeters vegetable tanned leather and engraved with an image of Elephant Siger, boasting their Lampungnese pride. Not only the leather patch, the pocket lining is also printed with a traditional Sumatran pattern as a mean to preserve the ancestral culture of Indonesia.
This pair of jeans comes in slim straight cut where the jeans are slimming down to the thigh area and keeping the calf straight going down. The on point fit and the not-so-heavy denim just gives us a comfortable feel. We only need a little bit adjustment with the length in which you can find the how-to here. Despite the fact that the industry is still overshadowed by heavyweight denims, this middleweight jeans are still worth of consideration for those of you who are already jaded by the trend.
With one way construction topped with interlock stitch for the inseam and vintage-style waistband stitch, we could say that the brand is very concerned with the quality as well as the covert details. It further affirms the genuineness and the growth of the brand. Zoom in on their Instagram to get to know them better or even cop it directly.
