Swank-à-Porter recently updates their collection with the release of FW18/19, ‘Le Swank’. They are bringing the newspaper aesthetic, which acts as a metaphor for the newspaper reading habit. It represents the necessity of physical form by holding the paper and intensely personal experience of reading it. On a side note, the collection resembles Galliano’s Dior of Fall 2000 Ready-to-wear, when he introduced the iconic ‘The Christian Dior Daily’ newspaper print.
Back to the topic, the ‘Le Swank’ newspaper templated is embroidered onto the ‘Swank Quilted Jacket’ and applied to some of the other products such as the ‘Printed Appliqued Shirt’, ‘Deconstructed Faux Fur Jacket’, and their ‘7th Year Anniversary Printed T-Shirt’. Some more neutral pieces are also present such as the bespoke ‘Stripes Padded Long Sleeves Turtleneck’ and ‘Wool Coat’.
