Martial arts sensation who is popularly know for his character “Mad Dog” in The Raid, Yayan Ruhian days ago has been a hot topic around film community as he will star in Takashi Miike’s upcoming yakuza vampire film called “Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of the Underworld” or in Japanese translated as “Gokudou Daisensou”. Yayan Ruhian who is a master of the Indonesian fighting technique Silat will play an otaku character and also Yakuza member. While the film itself, “Yakuza Apocalypse” is being described as Miike’s return to his hardcore filmmaking roots. The Japanese director shot to fame on the international festival circuit with films including “Audition”, “Ichi the Killer”, “Visitor Q”, and “Dead or Alive”. This film will centres on a yakuza underling who discovers his boss is a vampire, only to get bitten himself before going up against a gang of deadly international assassins. Ruhian will play one of the main assassins, according to screendaily.com.
