After receiving a lot of praise through various news outlets, both outside and within the country, the talented director known as Joko Anwar finally shared the official trailer for his upcoming film called “A Copy of My Mind“. Uploaded through the official YouTube channel of Toronto International Film Festival, this romance-drama film tells the story of a thirty year-old Alex who makes a living doing subtitles for pirated DVDs and Sari, a woman who works treating pimples in a cheap beauty salon. At five in the afternoon, she always walks home and stops by the pirated DVD shops. Eventually their paths cross and become lovers. However things does not always go as their wish. When Sari being asked to visit a jail to give an inmate a facial, she somehow stole a DVD from a shelf, not knowing that it actually contains recordings of illegal transactions between businessmen and high-ranking officials. The DVD also contains evidence that could disqualify a presidential candidate whom many people fear will become another dictator if elected president. The official guards who work for the inmate are soon looking for Sari. “A Copy of My Mind” is probably the only Indonesian film to be available at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival 2015. It is produced by Lo-Fi Films and CJ Entertainment of South Korean film distribution company. For those of you who would love to see the entire film in Indonesia, you will have to wait until December 2015.
