BISING is an upcoming documentary about Noise & Experimental Music in Indonesia. The film focuses on the noise spectrum of Indonesia’s experimental music scene as the biggest in South East Asia, one that has long existed and consistently kept itself away from the mainstream. This documentary gives an extensive overview with numerous bands, artists and speakers, all from Jakarta, Bandung, Bekasi, Yogyakarta, and Tokyo, who freely talk about their own definitions and approaches to noise music. The movie is also about the depth of a culture that may seem rather homogeneous to those on the outside. Created by duo filmmaker (Adyhtia Utama and Riar Rizaldi) and produced by Danif Pradana, BISING has a lot of credibility behind it. The trio has been screaming into distorted microphones and punching effected knobs for years, fronting underground solo projects as well as experimental groups, such as Sabedarah and Kalimayat.
