A romantic comedy, “I Fine, Thank You, Love You” is the latest film from GTH, the film studio of Thai entertainment conglomerate GMM Grammy. It was formed in 2003 by the merger of GMM Pictures with Tai Entertainment from producer Visute Poolvoralaks and Hub Ho Hin film company by Jira Maligool. The film itself grossed 29.17 million baht in ticket sales on its opening day being the second-highest ever for a Thai movie. The original film tells you that you do not need to speak the same language to be in love with someone, so as long as you can communicate with that person through your body language and sex, it will be fine. Another thing that you will learnt from this movie is that once you have spoken to someone in that language, you will be pretty much willing to do anything just to be able to talk to that someone in the same way again. In director Mez Tharaton’s new movie, that is exactly what motivates maintenance engineer Yim played Sunny Suwanmethanon to pick up the English language, just so he may have a chance to be sent to the United States and along with that to be reunited with his Japanese girlfriend who is played by Japanese AV star Sora Aoi. The film “I Fine, Thank You, Love You” certainly remains a mighty fine enjoyable romantic comedy that should transcend any language barrier. It is a farce no doubt, but one that is not afraid to be fun, sweet and silly at the same time. For more information about GTH, feel free to visit their official site above.
