Last weekend on Valentine’s Day February 14th 2015, Pop Up Garage 2015 as part of Pop Up Market pre-event have been successfully held at Trafique Coffee in South Jakarta. There are at least thirty tenants who joined in the carousel, ranging from accessories focus brand such as clocks, cutlery, keychains, and wearable goods, toys, and so forth. Overall they are local brands that do not have a retail store and often joined in various events or bazaars. Many visitors came shortly after the show opened to the public, as can be seen from the density of parking lot at Trafique Coffee. During the event, visitors were also entertained by live music performances by few local bands of Prasetiya Mulya Business School.
The press conference of Pop Up Garage 2015 begins at 14:30 and is opened by a speech from Mr. Rudy Handoko as chairman of the graduate program Prasetiya Mulya Business School. He lays out the vision and mission of the event Pop Up Market. He said that this event is a real contribution form Prasetiya Mulya as a business school for the development of Indonesia. Later he mentioned that he wants to encourage the emergence of young entrepreneurs and bring their own business to another level through this event.
For the second session, the visitors and the media was invited to met with Efrata P. Harsono who is a Community Manager of Carousell in Indonesia. As an official partner of the phone app for Pop Up Market in 2015, Carousell has the same vision and mission with both Prasetiya Mulya and its Pop Up Market. This Singapore based app also wants to inspire millions of people, especially in Indonesia, to start their own business more easily, so they can push the level of entrepreneurs in the industry and eventually develop Indonesia as a whole. Mr. Efrata P. Harsono also further explained about the company profile and how the company could grow rapidly, even to Indonesia.
Last but not least, Mr. Gary Evano as the chairman of the committee Pop Up Market 2015 describes in detail the concept of the upcoming Pop Up Market 2015. This event will be held with four main principle of Pop Up Market such as, non profitable, to support and assist local brands, have to be a good curation, and focus on bring in new experience to the public. This event will seek to differentiate itself against another fashion bazaar which often take place in various malls in Jakarta. Pop Up Market in 2015 is divided into two parts, pre-event and event, such as Pop Up Garage, Pop Up Initiative, and the Pop Up Market 2015 which will be taking place at Lotte Shopping Avenue on March 2015.
