While everyone is striving to forget the failures of their past, Samuel West sees it as a wise opportunity to acknowledge failures in the process of being successful by building the Museum of Failure. Located in Helsingborg, Sweden, Museum of Failure exhibits the interesting collection of innovation failures such as Colgate’s Beef Lasagna that just doesn’t add up in the toothpaste business, Google Glass that has seen the light of day but fail miserably in the market, Harley Davidson’s leather-scented perfume, and 67 other failed products and services from around the world that provide a unique insight into the risky business of innovation.
It’s a great reminder that although some see success stories inspiring and worth learning from, failures should be credited as much because they teach everything that success can’t. While the location may be too far for your reach, here’s a walkthrough in the Museum of Failure’s exhibit.
