Transforming into a highly essential social media for 53 million of its constantly growing Indonesian users, Instagram has become a prominent powerhouse in visually emblazoning many exciting lives of its diverse must-follow personalities. Even with different intentions of the users, Instagram has established its own rights as a platform that can jumpstart many great aspects of digital exposure. This week, we will introduce five personalities who we think are worth to know and follow.

1. Tristan Juliano Sumaatmadja
Musician

What are you doing lately?
Cooking something up for Mantra Vutura’s upcoming mini-album and collaborations with another musicians, hopefully next year. Also, as a final year student, I need to focus working on my thesis.

Who’s your all-time favorite Indonesian IG account(s) and why?
@Thedisplayplanet an up-to-date media portal, where they discuss current trends in music, culinary, and art, you should follow and @whiteboardjournal, obviously.

What’s your favorite place(s)?
Kovesop BSD. The only coffee shop near my campus in BSD. I almost go there everyday, really dig in the coffee and I know the baristas well. I study, hangout, and conduct meetings there. Meanwhile a favorite coffee shop in Jakarta is Dua Coffee Cipete. The coffee and food are great, it is near my house, and there’s this really pretty barista who used to work there, but sadly no more :(.

What’s your favorite Indonesian local brand(s)?
HMM… There are a lot actually. Taka for my daily campus wear, Elhaus‘ outer piece for hangout, Tenue De Attire for studio session, and Kana Goods’ kimono and Relic Almanac’s accessories whenever I hit the stage. Lately, I really like Jan Sober. Honestly, local brands are really great like you don’t need branded stuffs to look good. Therefore, support Indonesian brands and come to Pop Up Market 2019 HAHAHA #shamelesspromotion.

Do you have a second account on your social media? If yes, what’s the use?
@Yangterhormatbapakmorgan, the account to channel my inner “recehness” through my personal curated jokes.

2. Chianty Gunawan
Marketing Director of Meraqi Group

What are you doing lately?
I’m all good. Currently preparing an event for 3rd Anniversary Party for Hause Rooftop (one of Meraqi’s group members). Busy af, but still breathing thank God.

Who’s your all-time favorite Indonesian IG account(s) and why?
@Dianarikasari, she’s the most outspoken, opinionated person in the influencer room, and the most intelligent woman (IMHO), she always know how to deliver a bad and good news to her audience, in a really great ways. My eye-opener.

What’s your favorite place(s)?
My bedroom. And my work place. Because, why not? The place where there’s Netflix and chill. LOL.

What’s your favorite Indonesian local brand(s)?
Clothes: Nikicio. Shoes: WAT.

Do you have a second account on your social media? If yes, what’s the use?
Nope. Fact: I’m not really into social media actually, Instagram is the only app that can catch my heart.

3. Cissylia Stefani Van Leeuwen
VP Marketing-Brand GO-JEK Indonesia

What are you doing lately?
Learning how to deal with new born baby (yep, popping out soon)

Who’s your all-time favorite Indonesian IG account(s) and why?
@Andienaisyah. She’s a complete set of how woman these days should be (in my personal opinion). Full of inspiration! From her fashion sense, motherhood journey, her creativity, her social activity, and her love for music! Damn, she’s really set the bar high for young woman out there (in a positive way).

What’s your favorite place(s)?
As much as i want to give some fancy answer, but honestly HOME is my favorite place! A place to recharge my energy, mind, and soul. A place where my husband cooks me delicious foods ALL.THE.TIME.

What’s your favorite Indonesian local brand(s)?
Tangan. There’s no other Indonesian brand as bold as them. Their design is really shaking things up! They are bold enough to always come up with compelling and “out of the box” creations especially with their signature unfinished hemlines and asymmetrical cut. Wearing their collection makes me feel like am walking in the street of New York ready to get photographed by bunch of street fashion photographers, LOL!

Do you have a second account on your social media? If yes, what’s the use?
Oh yes! @dansylkitchen! It’s an IG account my husband and I created to share our love for cooking and good food. To inspire young couple out there that cooking together is fun (and yes, sometimes the fanciest food you eat at a fancy restaurant is super easy to make).

@Satrialingga, just because I have too many favorite Indonesian Instagrammers and I can’t just mention one name.

What’s your favorite place(s)?
First is Jakarta since I was born here and make a living here. The second one is Bali. For me, Bali is the best place to calm down and erase all the stress HAHAHA. So cliche, but I rarely go out of town. Another one is Papua.

What’s your favorite Indonesian local brand(s)?
Today there are a lot of great local brands, so I can’t decide which one to mention. Maybe, Majesty Majestic because it is my own brand.
