The local talented pop-funk-jazz band based in Jakarta known as Maliq & D’Essentials recently uploaded their newest single “Aurora” and its official music video via streaming site YouTube after previously presented the official lyric video. Part of their upcoming album “2 in 1 Deluxe Edition Album” is here as their first single and comeback album for 2015. This single or album will be soon available on digital release only. Moreover, the single is also being used as the title track for their upcoming album which a mixed of “Sriwedari” and “Musik Pop”. The music alone is purely inspired by the 80s and tells a story about someone who is going back home to meet their lovers. While the three and half minutes music video also shares the visual that is filled by the member of Maliq & D’Essentials along with their quirky action and unique interpretation of the music words or lyrics. Maliq & D’Essentials is a jazz and soul music based band located in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since their appearance in the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival in 2005, the band popularity has increased, especially among young people in Jakarta. The combination of Indonesian and English in their songs has become one of the typical flagships of their music. Their music is distinctive, which is pretty uncommon among Indonesians. Maliq & D’Essentials has released four studio albums and two EP, with the latest album “Musik Pop” being released in 2014. This is the first album from them that collaborated with other musicians in terms of song writing. They worked with talented yet their senior from the Indonesian music industry, Indra Lesmana to produced two songs, namely “Ananda” and “Nirwana”. The first song that we mentioned later became the first single for this album and began to be heard through the official website of Maliq & D’Essentials on April 15th 2014.
